The Velvet Edit Co was created from a friendship that has stood the test of time, life, and everything in between. We've known each other since high school and over the years, we've moved through all of life's seasons side by side. From weddings, children, periods where we barely spoke, to even the hardest chapters including a cancer journey. Through it all, we've always found our way back to each other.
This brand is a natural extension of that connection built on honesty, resilience, humour, and a shared love of creating something meaningful. Jewellery has always been part of that story.
One of us has always believed in its quiet power that the right piece can completely change how you feel, even when everything else stays the same. You might not be buying a whole new outfit, but a single piece of jewellery can shift your confidence, your mood, your entire day. With a deep creative, hands on approach she has found jewellery making and sourcing a comfort throughout cancer treatment. A way to keep creating beauty in the middle of uncertainty.
The other brings years of experience in healthcare and after a decade of caring for others, reached a point of burnout that many can relate to. This brand became a space to reconnect with herself again, something outside of work, responsibility and exhaustion. She's tried building businesses before and while not every attempt has stuck there's a determination to keep going, learning, and building something that does.
Together we balance each other in the most real way. We swear at each other like sisters, laugh too loud in public and never miss a chance to explore a market or get lost in a vintage shop. We can be completely ourselves no pretence, no performance, and that energy is exactly what The Velvet Edit Co represents. At its core this brand is us: imperfect, evolving, creative and real.
